Former Police Inspector Jagath Nishantha Arrested Over W15 Hotel Shooting Incident

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Police Inspector, Jagath Nishantha, a suspect in the shooting incident at the W15 Hotel in Weligama, has been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He was apprehended upon his return to the country from overseas, last afternoon.

The shooting related to the arrest was reported on December 31, 2023, outside the W15 Hotel in Weligama, Matara, that resulted in the death of a police officer attached to the Colombo Crimes Division and injuries to another individual.
