Sri Lanka Police Arrest 958 Suspects in 24-Hour Anti-Drug Crackdown

COLOMBO (News1st): 958 suspects have been arrested within the past 24 hours during the "A Nation United" national initiative launched to disrupt the island-wide drug supply.

Issuing a statement, Police say that illegal asset investigations have been initiated against one suspect through the relevant operations.

Police have also taken steps to obtain detention orders against 7 suspects and to refer 5 individuals for rehabilitation.

The statement added that 435 kg of heroin and 874 kg of "Ice" were taken into police custody during the raids.
