COLOMBO (News 1st): Nearly three months have passed since Cyclone Ditwah struck, yet many citizens continue to face hardship. Gammadda remains committed to standing with those still struggling, ensuring relief and rehabilitation reach every affected community.

During the unprecedented disaster last year, the ‘Sirasa-Shakthi Sahana Yathra’ provided emergency relief over several days. The next phase focused on rehabilitation and rebuilding lives, carried out through the ‘Gammadda Care and Dare’ initiative, launched with the support of Australia’s Minderoo Foundation, one of the world’s largest philanthropic organizations.

A Gammadda Care and Dare camp was held at Rattota Sri Kumaran Primary School to support residents of the Raththota and Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Matale district.

Thousands of people attended to access essential food items and services, reflecting the strong trust placed in Gammadda.

The camp was joined by Chevaan Daniel, Leader of Gammadda and Group Director of the Capital Maharaja Group, alongside Rattota Divisional Secretary Anjana Dissanayake, Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretary Thusitha Dissanayake, and school principals Alagan Thiruchelvam and A. Rajaratnam.

The camp featured zones for healthcare, nutrition packs, and hygiene kits, enabling aid to reach citizens efficiently.

Essential dry rations, household appliances, water filters, and gas stoves were also distributed.
