'Sri Lanka Has Come a Long Way': IMF's Kristalina Georgieva Meets AKD

COLOMBO (News 1st); IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva says Sri Lanka’s reform program is delivering results, following a meeting with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

In a statement shared on X, Georgieva described her discussion with President Dissanayake as excellent, noting that Sri Lanka has “come a long way.” She said the government’s reform program is producing benefits for the country and its people.

Georgieva also emphasized the importance of maintaining the reform trajectory, stressing that staying the course is essential to ensuring strong and durable growth that brings prosperity to all.
