COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Transport and Highways has announced that steps will be taken to suspend Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) employees found performing their duties while under the influence of drugs.
Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena stated that investigations have been intensified to identify all public transport drivers operating under the influence.
Additionally, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic and Road Safety, W.P.J. Senadheera, says that vehicle owners will be held accountable if a driver or employee engages in duties while under the influence of drugs.
