Assets of Drug Trafficker 'Deegala Saman' Frozen

COLOMBO (News 1st): Authorities have taken steps to freeze a luxury house and land belonging to Ajith Perera, alias "Deegala Saman," a known drug trafficker, for a period of one week.

The decision was taken after investigations revealed the property was allegedly purchased using funds generated from illicit drug trafficking.

The investigations were carried out by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division under the Money Laundering Act, following a complaint lodged by the Police Special Bureau.

The frozen assets include a 9-perch land and a two-story luxury house valued at over Rs. 20 million, located in the Ihala Thalduwa, Avissawella.
