COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Examinations has announced that all tuition classes related to the 2025 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination will be banned from midnight tomorrow.

The ban will remain in effect until the conclusion of the examination and will include subject-related lectures, seminars, workshops, and all forms of promotional activities.

The Department says legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the directive, and the public can lodge complaints at the nearest police station, via the 119 Police Emergency Hotline, or through the Examinations Department’s 1911 hotline.

Meanwhile, Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Liyanage said all arrangements have been completed to conduct the G.C.E. O/L examination.

She added that 382,249 school candidates and 69,214 private candidates have applied, bringing the total number of candidates to 451,463.

The examination will be held from February 17 to February 26, across 3,545 centers islandwide.
