Shiranthi Leaves FCID After Four-Hour Questioning Over 'Siriliya'

COLOMBO (News1st): Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa and her son Namal Rajapaksa recorded statements before investigators today.

Shiranthi Rajapaksa provided a statement before the Police Financial Crimes Division regarding alleged corrupt transactions said to have taken place under the “Siriliya Saviya” programme.

Namal Rajapaksa appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department to record a statement regarding alleged links with organized crime figure Kehelbaddara Padme.

After giving a statement for over four hours, Shiranthi Rajapaksa left the Police Financial Crimes Investigaion Division at around 2:15 pm today.

Namal Rajapakse who was summoned before the CID to provide a statement regarding alleged links to notorius criminal Kehelbaddara Padme also left CID after providing a statement.
