K-Pop's 'Golden' Wins First Grammy Award

COLOMBO (News 1st); The soundtrack ‘Golden’ from the Netflix animated movie “KPop Demon Hunters”, which sparked a global craze, made history as the first K-pop song to win a Grammy Award.

‘Golden’ was announced as the winner in the ‘Best Song Written For Visual Media’ category at the Grammy Awards’ Premiere Ceremony held in Los Angeles (LA), the United States, on the 1st.

The Grammy Awards’ ‘Best Song Written For Visual Media’ category is awarded to songwriters. Accordingly, EJAE, Teddy, 24, IDIO (Lee Yoo-han, Kwak Jung-kyu, Nam Hee-dong), and others who participated in creating ‘Golden’ earned the honor of becoming Grammy winners. This marks the first time a K-pop composer or music producer has won a Grammy Award.

Hollywood media outlet Variety reported, “‘Golden,’ the OST of “KPop Demon Hunters”, became the first K-pop song to win a Grammy.” It then quoted the chorus lyrics of ‘Golden,’ “It’s our moment,” expressing that “KPop Demon Hunters” continues to have its best moments.
