Gammadda Care & Dare Continues In Badulla Providing Relief And Support To Cyclone-Affected Communities

COLOMBO (News 1st)- Phase  2 of the Gammadda Care & Dare Initiative, to support communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, continued today in Badulla.

Gammadda Care & Dare launched its first program in Kotmale and the Second program in Passara

The Gammadda Care & Dare initiative, backed by the Australian Minderoo Foundation, one of the largest voluntary organizations in the world, started to help rebuild the livelihoods of our fellow Sri Lankans, who were in despair following the disaster. 

Gammadda Care & Dare third program was held today in Madolsima.

The Gammadda Care & Dare program, held over three days in the Badulla district concluded its second day today at Madolsima Tamil Maha Vidyalaya. 

The Chief Executive Officer of MTV Channel (Pvt) Ltd and Deputy Leader of the Gammadda Movement, Yasarath Kamalsiri and the Gammadda team, Lunugala Divisional Secretary Susipalana Puwanendran, Assistant Divisional Secretary Charitha Pradeepani, M.L. Priyantha of the National Apprenticeship and Technical Training Authority, the Principal of Madolsima Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Gemunu Shantha of the District Disaster Management Unit, and several other government officials participated in today’s event.

The program provided a wide range of essential services in one place, including:

Legal guidance and support.

Assistance with identity documents and lost paperwork.

Vocational guidance and career counseling.

Psychological support.

Distribution of essential food and supplies.

All attendees had access to these services throughout the day.

In the face of hardship, we must stay strong and hopeful. 

The Gammadda Care & Dare program will continue tomorrow at Divurumpola Purana Rajamaha Viharaya in Welimada, serving the local community.
