COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo High Court today scheduled February 13 as the next hearing date in the high-profile corruption case filed against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his son Ramith Rambukwella, daughter Amali Nayanika Rambukwella, and their domestic aide Nipuni Krishnajina.
The case was taken up before High Court Judge Mohamed Mihail, following charges filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The indictment alleges that during his tenure as a minister, Rambukwella facilitated a scheme where names of external individuals were included in his personal staff list, enabling salaries and allowances meant for those individuals to be deposited into his own bank accounts—a move described as a serious act of corruption and abuse of office.
The indictment was formally served on the defendants on November 17, 2025, after which they were released on cash and surety bail.
