COLOMBO (News 1st); Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Sri Lanka early this morning (January 12) for a short visit following an official tour of several African nations.
Upon arrival, Wang Yi met with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, and the two leaders engaged in official discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. In addition to diplomatic talks, Wang Yi joined Minister Herath for a brief excursion to admire Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.
Expressing his admiration, Wang Yi remarked that Sri Lanka is “a truly safe and beautiful destination,” emphasizing that his visit sends a strong message to the world about the island’s security and appeal for travelers.
Following the engagements, Wang Yi and his delegation departed from Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake aboard a special flight bound for Beijing.
