Sri Lanka's Racing Star Yevan David Makes F3 Debut

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka's racing star Yevan David participated in the qualifying rounds of the Hampton Downs stage at the 2026 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship in New Zealand. 

This marks Yevan's F3 racing debut. 

Yevan qualified for this year's Formula 3 championships following his remarkable performance in the Euroformula Open championships last year.

The final race of the Hampton Downs stage of the 2026 New Zealand Oceania Open is scheduled to be held today. 

The FR Oceania Open is a training ground ahead of the 2026 Formula 3 World Championship, which is set to begin in March this year. 

Yevan David will have the opportunity to qualify for F1, based on his performances on the F3 and F2 tracks this year and in 2027.

If he achieves this feat, Yevan will become the first ever Sri Lankan to compete in F1.
