Ella Odyssey Resumes Service Today After Suspension due to Cyclone Ditwah

COLOMBO (News1st): The ‘Ella Odyssey’ tourist train, which was suspended due to recent disasters, will resume its operations starting today.

The Department of Railways says that starting today, the train will operate between Ambewela and Badulla every Wednesday.

According to the Railways Department, during each journey, the train will depart Badulla at 7:45 AM and is scheduled to reach Ambewela at 10:58 AM. Another train journey will depart Ambewela at 1:30 PM and is scheduled to reach Badulla at 4:15 PM.

The frequency of the ‘Ella Odyssey’ train service is expected to increase in the future based on passenger demand.

Additionally, the Department of Railways announced that train services for school children between Nawalapitiya and Hatton, as well as Kandy and Wattegama, have already commenced on school days.

Meanwhile, the Pulathisi Intercity Express, which runs from Colombo to Batticaloa, is scheduled to resume operations starting this Friday.
