PM Calls for Nation to Turn Challenges into Strength in 2026

COLOMBO (News1st): Extending her New Year Wishes for 2026, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, called on the nation to transform all challenges faced during the past year into strength and to step into the New Year with renewed energy and hope.

Prime Minister emphasized that it is timely to reflect on the year 2025 and noted that during the past year, it was possible to ensure transparency in state governance under a new political culture and to establish an efficient public service free from corruption.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya noted that 2025 was a challenging year due to the recent disaster situations, and emphasized in her New Year message that the year 2026 must be approached with strong commitment, overcoming challenges, healing hearts affected by disasters, and restoring disrupted livelihoods to normalcy.
