No Departure Tax For Travelers Using Mattala International Airport Starting Tomorrow

COLOMBO (News1st): The departure tax exercised from passengers leaving the country via the Mattala International Airport has been removed.

The decision was taken by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Accordingly, the USD 60 departure tax previously charged from outbound passengers traveling through Mattala International Airport will no longer be levied starting tomorrow. 

The decision will remain in effect until June 26, 2026. 

The move aims to attract airlines and passengers to the Mattala International Airport.
