Rs. 50,000 Allowance Disbursed to Disaster-affected Families

COLOMBO (News 1st) - National Disaster Relief Services Centre of the Ministry of Defence says that an allowance of Rs. 50,000 has been provided to 3,665 disaster-affected families to purchase kitchen equipment.

Additional Secretary K. G. Dharmathilaka said that a total of 147,628 families have been identified as eligible to receive the assistance.

He further clarified that land ownership is not a requirement for receiving the Rs. 25,000 or Rs. 50,000 reliefs.
