Rs. 500Bn Supplementary Estimate to be Tabled in Parliament for Disaster Recovery

COLOMBO (News 1st): A supplementary estimate of Rs. 500 billion for the year 2026 is scheduled to be presented to Parliament today to restore public life disrupted by the recent disaster.

Parliament has been convened under Standing Orders following a request by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya. Accordingly, the session will commence today at 9:30 AM. 

An adjournment debate regarding the country's current state in the wake of adverse weather conditions will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Rs. 500 billion supplementary estimate is expected to be debated and passed during tomorrow's parliamentary session.
