273,000 Paddy Lands Destroyed Due To Ditwah

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Agricultural & Agrarian Insurance Board (AAIB) says that 273,000 paddy lands have been affected by the recent floods.

Its Chairman, Premasiri Jaasinghe Arachchi, says that 153,000 farmers across 20 districts have been affected in this regard.

The chairman stressed on several ways individuals can report harm caused to crops, including the hotline 1918. 

He added that the process of activating the compensation scheme for crop damage caused by the cyclone "Ditwah" has also commenced.
