AKD Thanks US for Lifeline Amid Cyclone Aftermath

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sergio Gor, the U.S. Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, spoke this morning (2) with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The president thanked the continued American support ,as the nation reels from the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The storm has claimed hundreds of lives and displaced hundreds of thousands, leaving communities shattered across the island.

President Dissanayake expressed gratitude for the United States’ assistance during this national crisis.

In response, the U.S. reaffirmed its commitment to monitor the situation closely and conveyed its deepest condolences to families who have lost loved ones.
