COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Air Force intensified its disaster response efforts in the Mavil Aru region, deploying a fleet of aircraft for rescue and reconnaissance missions.
The operation included a Bell-412 helicopter, a Jet Ranger (206) helicopter, a KA 360ER surveillance aircraft, and an MI-17 helicopter.
These assets are being used to evacuate stranded individuals and monitor flood-affected areas, ensuring timely assistance and coordination with ground teams.
The Air Force emphasized its commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining continuous aerial support as the situation unfolds.
