Sri Lanka’s Storm Crisis: Govt Unlocks Rs. 1.2 Billion for Rapid Response

COLOMBO (News 1st); The government has allocated Rs. 1.2 billion for immediate disaster relief operations as Sri Lanka battles severe weather and widespread flooding.

In addition, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed all District Secretaries to request additional funds if required, through the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Home Affairs.

To ensure swift coordination, an online meeting between the President and all District Secretaries has been scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today, according to H.S.K.J. Bandara, Director General of Government Information.
