11 missing, 2 dead - Badulla Hit By Deadly Landslides

COLOMBO (News 1st); Severe landslides triggered by continuous heavy rainfall have caused tragedy in the Badulla District, with 11 people reported missing in Madolsima, Galuda, and Kahataruppa areas.

According to police, rescue operations are underway amid challenging conditions.

Authorities confirmed that two fatalities occurred in Badulla and Lunugala, while two others sustained injuries.

Disaster management teams and local residents are working to locate those missing, as the risk of further landslides remains high.
