COLOMBO (News 1st); The five suspects arrested with a vessel off the Tangalle coast have now been transferred to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
This move comes after the Tissamaharama Magistrate’s Court granted permission to detain them for seven days.
Police say the suspects were apprehended during a high-profile operation linked to the transport of a massive 350-kilogram stock of crystal methamphetamine—commonly known as “Ice”—recently discovered on Kirinda beach.
The seizure of 350 kilograms of Ice is one of the largest narcotics hauls in the country’s history.
