Court Orders Seven-Day Detention For Six Suspects Arrested With Heroin In Seenigama

COLOMBO (News 1st);The court has ordered that the six suspects arrested with heroin in Thelwala, Seenigama be detained and questioned for seven days.

Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau.

The Organized Crime Prevention Unit of the Police Special Task Force recovered the heroin stock during an operation conducted yesterday.

The total weight of the stock was 5 kilograms and 416 grams.

Rs. 10,811,500 million in cash, found in the possession of the suspects, was also seized.

The Police Special Task Force stated that the suspects had brought the drug stock ashore from the sea by boat.

The boat used to transport the drugs was also taken into custody by the Special Task Force.
