Nine Children Injured As School Bus Overturns in Ragama

COLOMBO (News 1st): Nine children were injured when a bus carrying school children overturned near the Batuwatta railway crossing in Ragama this evening.

Police said that the bus, traveling to Sapugaskanda with a group of students who were participating in a scouting program, had met with the accident.

There were 16 children on the bus at the time of the accident and the injured children were admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital.

Police suspect that a defect in the bus's brake system may have caused the accident.
