COLOMBO (News 1st); Electricity sector trade unions engaged in a "work-to-rule" campaign have announced a temporary suspension of their decision to escalate into a full-scale strike.

Kosala Abeysinghe, President of the Ceylon Electricity Board Technicians’ Union, stated that the decision was made during a discussion held earlier today.

The professional action, initiated by engineering and technical unions aligned with opposition political parties, was launched in response to concerns over restructuring and the conditions they believe must be met during that process.

Today marks the 20th day of the ongoing "work-to-rule" campaign.
