Ex-Navy Man Arrested with Military Gear and Ammo

COLOMBO (News 1st); A former Navy soldier has been arrested in Vijayabahupura, Polonnaruwa, after authorities discovered military uniforms and empty ammunition casings at his residence. 

The arrest was carried out by a team from the Aralaganwila Special Task Force (STF) and the suspect was handed over to the Polonnaruwa Headquarters Police for further investigation.

According to police sources, the raid uncovered:

Four pieces of official military uniform
Empty casings used for T-56 assault rifles
Casings for other firearms
Two knives

The suspect, a 46-year-old resident of Vijayabahupura, is believed to have previously served in the Sri Lanka Navy.
