Chemicals Found in Middeniya Confirmed for ICE Production

COLOMBO (News 1st): The recently discovered chemical stock buried in a plot of land in the Middeniya Thorayaya area was confirmed to be used in the production of the drug methamphetamine (ICE).

According to the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, this was revealed in its report, which was handed over to the Western Provice North Crimes Division last Friday.

The Board further stated that chemical stocks found in the Netolpitiya and Kandana areas are also under examination, with the relevant reports expected to be submitted to the Division next week.

The discovery of the chemical stock in Middeniya on the 5th of September was made during the interrogation of organized criminal 'Backhoe Saman' ,who is currently in custody.

Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of similar chemical stocks in the Netolpitiya and Kandana areas.
