COLOMBO (News 1st); Two individuals identified as Thabili Lahiru and Backhoe Saman, alleged members of an organized crime network, have been extradited from Indonesia and are now in custody under the Western Province North Crimes Division.
With authorization from the Secretary of Defence, authorities have initiated a 90-day detention period to conduct intensive interrogations into multiple criminal activities linked to the suspects.
Sources indicate that the duo has already made key confessions related to the brutal murder of Middeniye Kajja and his two children.
According to investigators, the suspects admitted to handing over the T-56 assault rifle used in the killings to an individual known as Darun, immediately after the crime.
The motive, as revealed during questioning, stems from a dispute over a cannabis stock allegedly seized by Kajja from Darun. The suspects claim the murders were carried out in retaliation.
