CID Questions Wife Of Backhoe Saman After Deportation

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started questioning the wife of Backhoe Saman, who was taken into custody.

She and her child were detained by the CID at Katunayake International Airport yesterday afternoon, following their arrest in Indonesia and deportation to Sri Lanka.

Police said that six organized crime gang members, including Kehelibaddara Padme, who were arrested with her, are expected to be brought to Sri Lanka tomorrow.

A special police team is leaving for Indonesia today to carry out this operation.

The arrests, including that of Kehelibaddara Padme, Commando Salintha, Backhoe Saman, Panadura Nilanga, and Thambili Lahiru, were made near Jakarta in a joint operation involving Sri Lankan Police, Indonesian Police, and Interpol.
