Medawachchiya Railway Gate Guard Killed After Being Hit by Train

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A man has died after being struck by a train near the Yakawewa railway gate in Medawachchiya

Police confirmed that the deceased was the temporary railway gate guard stationed at the location. 

The train was traveling from Colombo Fort to Mannar.

The deceased was a 34-year-old father of two, a resident of Yakawewa.
