Arrest Warrant Issued for Former MP Diana Gamage

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court issued an arrest warrant for former Member of Parliament Diana Gamage, ordering that she be taken into custody and produced before the court.

The warrant was issued by Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga after Gamage failed to appear in court for a hearing related to multiple charges under the Immigration and Emigration Act. She is accused of submitting false information to obtain a foreign passport and remaining in Sri Lanka without a valid visa.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed seven cases against Gamage, with witness testimonies scheduled for today (21).

Among those present in court were a representative from the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the custodian of the High Court records room, and the primary complainant in the case.
