Police Arrest 11 Indians in Colombo Suburb For Visa Violation

COLOMBO (News 1st); Eleven Indian nationals, including three women, were taken into custody in Battaramulla for allegedly residing in Sri Lanka without valid visas.

According to police, the arrests were made following a tip-off received. 

The group was found occupying a two-storey building in the Akuregoda area at the time of the operation.

Authorities recovered three laptop computers and eight mobile phones from the premises.

Preliminary investigations revealed that none of the individuals possessed valid visas permitting them to stay in the country.
