Dispute Turns Deadly: 18-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed in Matale

COLOMBO (News 1st); An 18-year-old youth was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon in Matale following a heated dispute between two groups, police confirmed.

According to reports, the victim had visited the suspect’s residence yesterday afternoon along with three others. 

A verbal altercation escalated, leading to the suspect allegedly striking the victim in the neck with a sharp object.

Another individual sustained injuries during the incident and is currently receiving treatment at the Matale General Hospital.

Police have taken the suspect into custody and are conducting further investigations into the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
