Colombo (News 1st): Hiruna De Silva and Meedum Mendis, from Ananda College, Colombo, have made history by winning Sri Lanka’s FIRST-EVER GOLD MEDAL at the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships 2025 in the 12.5m Line Throw event.
They made history at the Commonwealth Life Saving Championship in Swansea UK.
Organized under the auspices of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) and the Commonwealth Games Federation, this prestigious event is not only a showcase of elite aquatic skill and rescue readiness but also serves as the final qualifying round for the World Games in China this year — where lifesaving is officially recognized as a competitive sport.
