Nationwide Rural Road Development Program Begins

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The inaugural phase of the nationwide rural road development initiative, “Punarudayata Maga”, kicks off today.

According to the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation, the first phase will see the development of 55 selected rural roads.

The ministry further stated that Rs. 14 billion has already been allocated for the implementation of this phase, which is part of a broader effort to develop 1,000 rural roads across the country.
