Anura in Berlin: Sri Lanka’s President Greeted With Military Honors

COLOMBO (News 1st); German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier officially welcomed Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to Germany today (11) with full military honors, marking the beginning of Dissanayake’s first official visit to the country since assuming office in September 2024.

During their bilateral discussions, President Steinmeier expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between Germany and Sri Lanka.

The two leaders explored avenues to further strengthen economic cooperation and deepen ties across key sectors.

President Steinmeier also reaffirmed Germany’s continued support for Sri Lanka’s domestic reform agenda.
