Major Police Shake-Up: Top Officers Transferred in Sudden Reshuffle

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Police Commission has approved a series of immediate transfers and appointments affecting several senior police officers.

Senior Superintendent Of Police M.S. Mohan Lal has been appointed as the Director of Investigations at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). He currently serves as CIABOC.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police A.S.K. Bandara has been transferred from the Ampara Division to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) W.T. Anuranga has also been reassigned from the Mount Lavinia Division to the CID.

In other notable changes, ASP B.L.A. Prasanna has been transferred from the Elpitiya Division to the Nugegoda Division, and ASP M.P.D. Deepti Kumara has been moved from Nugegoda to Elpitiya.

The Police Department also confirmed that transfers have been approved for eight Chief Inspectors and two Inspectors of Police, as part of this broader reshuffle.
