Deshabandu Tennakoon Summoned in IGP Probe

Colombo (News 1st); Deshabandu Tennakoon has been summoned to appear before the committee appointed to investigate the alleged misuse of powers associated with the role of Inspector General of Police, on the 19th of this month.

This will be the first time Deshabandu Tennakoon appears before the investigative committee.

The committee was appointed under the Removal of Public Officers (Procedure) Act No. 5 of 2002 to investigate the allegations against the IGP. 

The committee is chaired by Supreme Court Justice Preethi Padman Surasena.
