COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have announced that legal action will be taken against 11 long-distance passenger buses found operating with various mechanical and safety defects.
The violations were uncovered during a special inspection operation conducted along the Ginigathhena–Hatton route, where a total of 27 buses were examined.
According to police, the identified buses were operating in a manner that posed serious risks to passenger safety.
Among the 11 buses facing prosecution, five belong to the state-run SLTB fleet.
