Rs. 12.54 Million Worth of Foreign Cigarettes Seized at Katunayake Airport

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect in posession of a stock of foreign cigarettes valued at Rs. 12.54 million, was arrested by Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
According to the Customs, the suspect arrived early this morning from Dubai, and the stock of foreign cigarettes was discovered packed in eight travel luggages.
The contraband included 418 cartons, containing a total of 83,600 foreign cigarettes.
The suspect is a 33-year-old businessman from Ratnapura.
