Ranil Wickremesinghe Leaves After Providing Statement to the Bribery Commission

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has left the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption after providing a statement.

He was summoned to the commission to provide information regarding a statement connected to the ongoing investigation against former Uva Province Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake.

Wickremesinghe had previously been summoned on two occasions but had requested alternate dates each time.

However, this time, he sent a letter through his lawyer, requesting to appear before the Commission today.

Accordingly, Wickremesinghe, appeared before the Commission at around 9.30 this morning.
