Two Suspects Linked to Organized Crime Arrested With Heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects with ties to organized crime gangs have been arrested with heroin in Minuwangoda.

Officers of the Police Special Task Force apprehended the suspects, aged 24 and 35, while they were riding a motorcycle near Welyaya on Vijaya Mawatha, Minuwangoda.

Further investigations revealed their involvement in a recent case where two T-56 firearms were seized by STF officers in Wathumulla.

The suspects were handed over to the Colombo Crime Division for further investigations.

Earlier, on April 19, a search operation in Wathumulla, Gampaha, led to the seizure of two T-56 firearms, 118 rounds of ammunition, three ammunition magazines, a van, a car, a three-wheeler, and the arrest of eight suspects.
