Crescent Sighted: Muslims In Sri Lanka Will Celebrate Ramazan On March 31

COLOMBO (News 1st); Muslims in Sri Lanka will celebrate Eid Al Fitr, or Ramazan, on Monday March 31.

The official announcement was made by the Colombo Grand Mosque, All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, and the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.

The joint statement said that the Hilaal (Crescent) of the month of Shawwal 1446 AH, was sighted on Sunday, March 30, and thus it was unanimously declared that the 1st of Shawwal 1446 is on the 31st of March 2025.
