Court Orders Property Confiscation in Drug Bust

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have secured a court order to confiscate the property of two suspects involved in illegal alcohol and heroin trafficking.

The suspects were arrested yesterday afternoon in the Ja-Ela and Ekala areas under the Money Laundering Act.

The suspects, aged 39 and 63, are residents of Ja-Ela and Ekala. 

As a result of the court order, a van worth Rs 3.5 million, a car, a three-wheeler worth Rs 1.2 million, and a property valued at Rs 1.9 million have been confiscated.

The Police Asset Investigation Unit has commenced further investigations into the suspects.
