Traffic Lights To Be Installed With Timers

COLOMBO (News 1st); A decision has been made by the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation to install timers on traffic lights. 

The objective of this initiative is to minimize road accidents and ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Approximately 200 traffic lights will be installed with timers in the first phase of the project.

Accordingly, 56 million rupees will be provided to the Road Development Authority from the Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund.
