Firearm Supplier to Crime Gangs Arrested in Aluthgama

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect was arrested in the Aluthgama 5th Mile Post area with a 9mm firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition. 

The arrest was made by officers from the Kalutara District Crime Division. The suspect, a 32-year-old resident of Ahungalla, is believed to be involved in supplying firearms to organized crime gangs.

Following his presentation to the Mathugama Magistrate's Court, the suspect is now being questioned under a detention order. Police suspect that the firearm was brought to the Aluthgama area for use in a criminal activity.
