COLOMBO (News 1st): Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says that the plan to develop the country will be revealed through the budget speech that is scheduled to be presented in Parliament today.
She made this statement at a public meeting held in Mullaitivu.
Prime Minister Amarasuriya said that the 2025 budget ensures that development is spread equally across all parts of the island, and that every citizen of Sri Lanka will benefit from it.
She went on to note that the government is committed to building a country where all citizens can live without fear, and not just urban areas or a small group of the population are entitled to development.
The Prime Minister added that the government is also committed to building an administration that pays attention to the voice of the general public.
She said that a top priority of the government is to eradicate rural poverty, affirming the importance of developing the agricultural and fisheries industries.
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya went on to note that the launch of new initiatives is crucial to ensure this.
She also mentioned that the 2025 budget, set to be presented to Parliament by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake this morning, will provide a detailed and comprehensive roadmap for the government's development plans for the country.
