Beware: WhatsApp Scam Impersonating Customs Director General

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs has issued a warning about an organized scam operation using the name and title of the Director General of Customs to solicit money from individuals via WhatsApp messages. 

The scam involves a WhatsApp account under the name "DGC Mr. Nonis," which is being used to send fraudulent messages requesting money for various reasons, along with bank account details.

The Customs Department has urged the public not to fall victim to these fraudulent activities and to report any such requests to the nearest police station immediately.
